Information Regarding Ph.D./M.Phil Admission for Distance Learning PG Degree Holder
The Distance Education Council of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)/Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is the only authority to recognize the Degrees/Certificates of Distance Education.
Such Candidates are provisionally permitted to appear in the Ph.D./M.Phil. Entrance Test and will be required to submit certificates from Distance Education Council of IGNOU, New Delhi regarding recognition/approval of the courses.
But few Universities like Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (Formerly Allahabad Agricultural Institute) Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh where eligibility for Ph.D. Programme is
Regular Master Degree in Relevant Subject with at least 55% marks (or 6.00 CGPA/OGPA) for General Candidates and 50% marks (or 5.5 CGPA/OGPA) for SC/ST/Physically handicapped candidates.
